Q. How much does the service cost?
A. To be covered by TheKeyPorter service an initial payment of £18* is required when duplicate keys are picked up, together with a signed service agreement and completed PAD (Pre Authorized Debit) form in full. The £18* represents the first four months of coverage. The cost is £4.50* per calendar month.
Q. When does coverage begin?
A. Upon receipt of the confirmation e-mail from TheKeyPorter. It will take one day, under normal circumstances, to add the Key Case to TheKeyPorters inventory system.
Q. How long is a member covered by the TheKeyPorter service?
A. The minimum term is 18 Months. The service will cease upon cancellation of the PAD by the member, or failure to pay the monthly fee within five days of its due date.
Q. Will TheKeyPorter ever use the keys?
A. NO. TheKeyPorter will only collect, store and deliver the member's duplicate key set.
Q. Who is covered by the TheKeyPorter service?
A. A Member may pass on their secret phrase to a third party, authorising that person to utilise their KeyPorter service & thus granting them access to the keys held by TheKeyPorter.
Q. What happens if a member moves?
A. Inform TheKeyPorter, who will arrange for keys to be exchanged. This does not affect the one (1) free service per annum
Q. Are there any surcharges?
A. For delivery of keys outside the Area of Service, the client shall be charged at approved taxi rates.
Q. Can a member deposit multiple sets of keys (For example: house, car and boat)?
A. Yes. Members can place all these duplicate keys in one deposit box. However, TheKeyPorter cannot break up sets of keys. Note: The size of the Key Case is 3.5" X 2.5" x 1" inches.
Q. If a member loses their keys and are out of TheKeyPorter’s range what happens?
A. TheKeyPorter will arrange to deliver duplicate keys to the member via courier, however there would be additional charges made to the member's account to cover the increased cost of travelling beyond the pre-determined area and will not be covered by the 1 hour delivery promise.
Q. How safe are member's duplicate keys?
A. Keys are stored in a secure location in a large safe with twenty-four hour surveillance. Keys are identified by number only. All data concerning members is stored at a separate facility.
Q. Is it possible to gain temporary access to the keys?
A. Yes. Given forty-eight hours notice TheKeyPorter will release the keys to the member, temporarily suspend the service and reactivate it upon the return of the keys to TheKeyPorter. The monthly membership subscription during this time shall NOT be suspended. This shall be deemed as the annual service.
